While his season didn't officially that day, Raunak Khosla put an exclamation point on one of the greatest freshman seasons in Princeton swimming history Friday during Day 3 of the 2019 NCAA Championships. Khosla, who won Ivy League titles in both the 200 IM and 200 fly last month, earned All-America honors Friday by placing 11th in the 400 IM at the Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center in Austin, Texas.
Khosla, who set the Princeton 400 IM record during his runner-up finish in the event at the Ivy League Championships, broke that mark one more time during the Friday prelims, and he earned All-America honorable mention in the process. Khosla cut .12 of a second off his record time by going 3:42.22 to place 13th in the prelims, and he moved up to 11th in the finals in a time of 3:42.57.
Khosla is Princeton's first individual All-American since 2012, when Jon Christensen earned first-team All-America honors in the 200 breast. The freshman standout wrapped up his career Saturday night by placing 27th in the 200 fly, an event he won an Ivy League championship in last month.
Sophomore Colten Young finished his NCAA weekend by placing 38th in the platform final with a total score of 256.80 points. Young was the Ivy League runner-up in both the 1- and 3-meter finals this year, has completed in every event of the NCAA Championships in each of his first two years.
