Princeton Baseball In The Pros: Five Alumni Start At AAA Level

PRINCETON, N.J. – As the minor league baseball season officially gets underway, the Princeton Tigers will have five alumni at the Triple-A level to start the 2019 campaign.

Danny Barnes – Buffalo Bisons – AAA – The reliever has participated in two games for the Bisons and has not allowed a base runner in 3 1/3 innings. He earned the save against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Saturday.

Mike Ford - Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders – AAA – Safe to say Ford is off to a decent start … The first baseman blasted three home runs in a win vs. Buffalo on Sunday, collecting four RBI. The former Tiger had a hit in each game of the series vs. Buffalo, finishing with a .385/.429/1.308 slash line.

David Hale - Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders – AAA – Hale made his first start of the season on Sunday in Ford's three home-run outing. He pitched into the sixth inning, scattering four hits, allowing one earned run, earning the decision.

Matt Bowman – Louisville Bats – AAA – Bowman has seen action in one game for the Cincinnati Reds' affiliate. He is currently on the Reds' 40-man roster.

Alec Keller – Fresno Grizzlies – AAA – Keller made his AAA debut last week for the Grizzlies and is off to a terrific start in four games. The outfielder has two multi-hit performances and is hitting .375 in 16 at-bats.

Keelan Smithers – Kingsport Mets – Rookie – Smithers was signed by the New York Mets in January and was assigned to the Kingsport. The Mets' season will start in June.
