Mayer Leads Tigers Through One Round at NCAA Regional

Jake Mayer is the top Tiger as the Princeton men's golf team is one round into the NCAA Regional in Athens, Ga.

Princeton stands 13th in the field of 13 teams, turning in a +25 through 18 holes. The top five teams advance to the NCAA Championships later in May, and through a round, those five spots belong to host Georgia (E), Vanderbilt (+2), Duke (+5), Tennessee (+6) and Memphis (+8). The top player not on on those teams will advance, and Noah Goodwin of SMU is in that spot after 18 holes, tied for fifth at -1.

Mayer is tied for 42nd at +4 to lead Princeton. Tuesday will feature one round with the first tee times at 7:30 a.m. and Princeton beginning to tee off at 9:20 a.m. Wednesday will bring the regional's final round.
