May 07, 2019 | Men's Golf
The NCAA Athens Regional is set to begin Monday for the Princeton men's golf team in what will be the Tigers' first NCAA Regional appearance since 2013 and eighth in the program's 20 seasons under Will Green, the J. Stuart Francis '74 Head Coach of Men's Golf.
Live scoring will be available via Golfstat here, and Georgia's tournament page is available here.
The 13-team field, plus 10 individuals, will play 18 holes each day Monday through Wednesday on the par-71, 7.253-yard University of Georgia Golf Course. The top five teams, along with the top-finishing player not on one of those five teams, will advance to the NCAA Championships held May 24-29 at The Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Ark. Princeton will tee off for Monday's round beginning at 12:50 p.m.
The teams aiming to advance are contending with a field that includes four teams in the Golf Coaches Association of America Top 25, including No. 5 Vanderbilt, No. 9 Duke, No. 15 Georgia and No. 20 Liberty, among the 10 teams in the Golfstat Top 60. The top-20 four are joined by Alabama, Tennessee, Campbell, Kentucky, Nevada, SMU, Memphis, UNC Wilmington and the Tigers.
Princeton advanced to the NCAA Regional after winning the Ivy League Championship by a single stroke over Columbia April 21 at Hidden Creek Golf Club in Egg Harbor, N.J. Max Ting was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Year and second-team All-Ivy, and Evan Quinn and Sam Clayman were first-team All-Ivy honorees.
