Holden's, Seggerman's Run Ends in Tiebreak at NCAA Doubles Championship

Holden and Seggerman, ranked 34th in the nation, battled No. 35 Murkel Dellien and Marius Frosa of Wichita State to a tiebreak third set before the Shocker pair won 4-6, 6-3, (11-9) at the USTA National Complex in Orlando, Fla.
"I'm proud of the guys for battling hard and having a great chance to advance," Princeton coach Billy Pate said. "They really wanted it and it simply came down to a point or two. The match tiebreak was really back and forth with swings of momentum and we just didn't quite seize it at the right time. I liked how we fought back from two match points at 7-9 to give ourselves a good look at it, but Wichita State made the plays they had to at the end. Nonetheless, it was a great season for these guys and our program. We'll be back this fall eager to build on the success."
Holden and Seggerman were Princeton's second NCAA doubles tournament qualifiers in three years, along with Alex Day '17 and Luke Gamble '18 two years ago. A day earlier, Holden and Seggerman delivered Princeton's first win in the tournament in 18 years, upsetting the No. 4-ranked team in the nation, Oli Nolan and Henry Patten of UNC Asheville.
