Mayer Named PING All-Region
May 25, 2019 | Men's Golf
Capping a season in which he led Princeton at the NCAA Regional in Georgia, sophomore Jake Mayer has been named to the PING All-Northeast Region team.
Mayer is one of 25 golfers from the Northeast region, one of six regions across the country, to be recognized.
Mayer led Princeton in three events on the season, at the Florida Gator Invitational in February, at the Princeton Invitational last month, and most recently at the NCAA Athens Regional earlier this month. Mayer had a 72.75 stroke average on the season with a high finish of a tie for third at the Princeton Invitational. In that home tournament, Mayer had his season-low round of 65 and two of the three sub-70 rounds he posted on the year.
It's the fourth straight year Princeton has had an honoree, with junior Evan Quinn having been honored last year as the only other current Tiger to be recognized. The complete list of honorees can be found here.
