Princeton Baseball In The Pros: Ford's Stellar Year Goes On

PRINCETON, N.J. – Mike Ford's excellent 2019 season has continued as he finished second in the Triple-A Home Run Derby last Tuesday.
Ford fell in the final round to Reno's Yasmany Tomas, 19-18. That's about all that's gone wrong for the RailRiders' first baseman. Ford made the AAA All-Star Game as he's contributed an OPS of over 1.000 (1.039). He was called up to the Yankees on July 2nd before being sent down a few days later. Ford sits with 19 home runs, 50 RBI and a .414 on-base percentage for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
David Hale – New York Yankees – MLB – Hale has not allowed a run in his last six games, picking up a win, a hold and two saves. On July 5th, the reliever threw 2 1/3 innings, striking out two, collecting the victory as the Yankees earned an 8-4 decision in extra frames.
Matt Bowman – Cincinnati Reds – MLB – Bowman has not given up a run in five of his last six appearances. The former Tiger has secured a 3.50 ERA in 16 games for the Reds.
Alec Keller – Fresno Grizzlies – AAA – Keller has produced hits in two of his last three games including a pinch-hit two-run double on Thursday. In 78 contests, Keller has hit three home runs with 30 RBI, adding a .273 average.
Danny Barnes - Buffalo Bisons – AAA – Barnes was placed on the seven-day disabled list. In seven games, he's struck out nine hitters and earned a save.
Keelan Smithers – Kingsport Mets – Rookie – Smithers was signed by the New York Mets in January and was assigned to the Kingsport. He was later moved to Extended Spring Training.
