Littlefield's Summer Study In London
August 02, 2019 | Women's Basketball
PRINCETON, N.J. – Carlie Littlefield spent a little over a month of her summer in England as she took classes at the London School of Economics.
Â
The first-team All-Ivy point guard had two, three-week finance classes that provided credit that transferred to Princeton.
Â
"The opportunity to take classes at a highly-regarded academic institution stretched me from both an academic and personal standpoint," said Littlefield. "Academically, I was exposed to a subject that Princeton does not offer many classes in, so I had to adapt and learn in different ways than I do in classrooms at Princeton. However, similar to Princeton, I am surrounded by highly motivated students from all over the world, which has enriched my learning experience."
Â
After class, Littlefield had the opportunity to explore London and some of her highlights included seeing the Windsor Castle changing of the guard, the Roman Baths, visiting Stonehedge, the Tower of London, the University of Oxford and seeing a show in Shakespeare's Globe.
Â
Some of her favorite parts of the city were trying the different foods in the different markets around. She also had the chance to travel to Paris and Amsterdam.
Â
"Personally, I have grown through getting to know new people and traveling with the people I have met, as well as independently living and exploring a new city with a different culture," stated Littlefield. "I feel very thankful for the summer growth opportunities Princeton provides, whether it be a service trip—which I participated in last summer— or a study abroad program. "
