PRINCETON, N.J. – Sydney Boyer and Grace Stone spent six weeks in Greece earlier this summer in a study abroad program.
Â
"It was one of the best experiences of life and I am very grateful I had the opportunity to go," said Boyer. "Going overseas has provided me with an experience that I will cherish forever," stated Stone.
Â
Boyer and Stone spent four weeks in Athens and then two more weeks in Epidaurus. The class that they were in was called Restaging the Greeks. The class attended many art performances including dance, opera and theater. In her free time, Boyer explored the city, visited beaches along the coast and Santorini. The collection of students also got to see the Acropolis, visit ancient ruins and explore museums and learn about Greek history and culture.
Â
The group also got to see Ancient Greek tragedies like Oedipus the King and the Suppliants as well as contemporary productions by German and Swiss theater companies. Some of Stone's favorite parts was when the class visited archeological sites such as Delphi and the Temple of Poseidon.
