HANOVER, N.H. – The No. 10 Princeton Tigers took care of business in its Ivy League opener with a 4-0 victory over the Dartmouth Big Green on Saturday afternoon.

Six minutes in, Clara Roth picked up a loose ball and whipped a shot into the cage to get the offense rolling for Princeton.

The Tigers had an impressive first quarter, producing six shots and two corners, but couldn't add on to their lead. Two minutes in to the second frame, Sammy Popper blasted a backhanded shot into cage on a corner attempt.

The Tigers' defense was stout in the first half as it did not allow its second shot until the 21-minute mark. Princeton finished with a 12-2 shot advantage in the first two frames.

Dartmouth's best scoring chance came in the third quarter with consecutive corners. The Big Green had one shot, but it was blocked away.

Ali McCarthy deflected in Hannah Davey's ball as the Tigers opened up the fourth stanza with a corner.

Popper nabbed her second of the contest a few minutes later.

It's the freshman's second multi-goal performance of the season as she collected two tallies vs. No. 1 UNC in the season-opener.

Head coach Carla Tagliente's squad finished with 20 more attempts than Dartmouth (24-4) and seven more corners (9-2). Princeton has not lost to Dartmouth since 2011 and has suffered just two defeats to the Big Green since 1988.

The Tigers improved to 4-4 overall while the Big Green dropped to 2-5 this season. Princeton travels to No. 10 Delaware on Tuesday (6 p.m.).
