Men’s Tennis to Open Spring Season Against Buffalo and Drexel

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton University men's tennis team will open its spring 2020 slate with a pair of matches against the University of Buffalo and Drexel University on Sunday, January 26 inside Jadwin Gymnasium. Princeton will face the Bulls at 10 a.m. and the Dragons at 3 p.m.
Tiger Notes
Princeton ended the fall with a pair of nationally-ranked doubles tandems. Senior Payton Holden and junior Ryan Seggerman were tabbed at No. 13, jumping up two spots from their No. 15 ranking in the preseason rankings announced on Tuesday, September 17. The pairing posted an 11-3 record during the fall, including a run to the quarterfinals at the prestigious Oracle/ITA National Fall Championships.
Entering the national top-60 from Princeton was junior Damian Rodriguez and sophomore Karl Poling, who were tabbed at No. 58. The duo were rewarded for their 4-1 record throughout the fall.
Last Time They Met
Princeton, who lead the all-time series against Buffalo 8-0, last took on the Bulls on Sunday, March 3, 2019 inside Jadwin Gymnasium with the Tigers coming out on top, 6-1. The Tigers will be facing Drexel for the first time.
Scouting Buffalo
The Bulls finished with an 11-9 record in duals and 6-1 record in Mid-American Conference (MAC) matches in 2018-19. In the MAC Tournament semifinals, the Bulls fell 4-2 to No. 3 seed Northern Illinois University
Scouting Drexel
The Dragons ended 2018-19 with an 11-10 record and a 2-2 record in Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) play. Drexel fell 4-3 to the No. 3 seed University of William & Mary in the CAA Tournament semifinals.
