Complete release from Rutgers
Andrew Aurich is leaving the Princeton football coaching staff, though he can still wear his "150th" gear at his new job.
Â
Aurich, who had been Princeton's associate head coach and offensive coordinator, has become the offensive line coach at Rutgers, reuniting with newly rehired head coach Greg Schiano and former Princeton offensive coordinator and now RU offensive coordinator Sean Gleeson.
Â
"We will miss him," said Princeton head coach Bob Surace. "He's a high-quality coach and even higher-quality person. He's been a great asset to our program in whatever role he's had, and we wish him the best as he moves on to Rutgers."
Â
Aurich is a 2008 Princeton graduate who also coached for seven years with the Tigers, helping Princeton's offensive to record-setting heights and the team to three Ivy League championships. In all, Aurich has spent 15 of the last 17 years at either Princeton or with Schiano, with whom he previously worked at both Rutgers and in the NFL with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Â
"Andrew and I have worked together both on the college and professional level," said Schiano on the Rutgers website. "I admire his passion and dedication to coaching and developing players. He also spent several seasons with Coach Gleeson and that relationship will be important in creating alignment on the offense. Andrew comes in with a unique perspective having coached several positions on offense, including as a play caller. We are excited to have him and his family rejoin the Rutgers staff."
