Littlefield Named To Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player Of The Year Award Watch List
November 11, 2020 | Women's Basketball
Carlie Littlefield is one of 25 women's basketball players from around the nation named to the 2021 Becky Hammon Award Watch List. Presented by Her Hoop Stat, the Becky Hammon Award honors the top mid-major player in America.
One of two Ivy Leaguers on the list, Littlefield has earned first-team All-Ivy honors each of the last two seasons. In each of her first three seasons, Littlefield has been part of an Ivy League championship team, and she had helped the Tigers to a pair of Ivy League Tournament titles before the 2020 ILT was canceled due to COVID-19. Littlefield has twice advanced with her team to the NCAA Tournament -- a feat likely to have been repeated if the 2020 NCAA Tournament had been held.
Last season, she led the Tigers in assists (90) and was second in points-per-game (13.7) and she ranked in the Ivy League Top 10 in points, field goal percentage, assists, free throw percentage, steals, three-point field goal percentage and assist-turnover ratio.
With the safety and well-being of student-athletes as its highest priority, the Ivy League announced on July 8 that it would not be possible for Ivy League teams to participate in intercollegiate athletics competition prior to the end of the fall semester. A decision on a potential return to play for the spring semester will be made at a later date.
