'50 Years' Alumna Spotlight: Niveen Rasheed '13

In her career ...
- A four-time Ivy League champion, three-time first-team All-Ivy selection and two-time unanimous Ivy Player of the Year, Rasheed was named the women's basketball program's first Associated Press All-America in 2013. At the time, she was just the third Ivy League player to ever receive the honor.
- Over her four-year career, the guard helped elevate the Tigers to the national spotlight including the Ivy's first-ever women's basketball national ranking in the final AP Poll of 2011-12 at No. 24 and the program's first-ever berth into the NCAA Tournament.
- Rasheed and the Class of 2013 can call themselves one of the best classes in Ivy League basketball history. Over their four-year run they went 54-2 tying them as winningest class in Ivy men's or women's history with Penn's men's basketball Class of 1996.
- The guard concluded her career as one of the all-time leaders in program history, flooding her name in the career and season record book. At the time of her graduation, she was third in rebounds (860), fourth in points (1,617), fifth in scoring average (16.7), fifth in field goals made (604), sixth in rebounding average (8.7) along with a myriad of other top-10 career and season records.
- Rasheed finished her time at Princeton as a three-time first team All-Ivy, two-time unanimous Ivy Player of the Year and 2010 Ivy Rookie of the Year selection.
- Played professionally in Greece for Ippokratis Kos
- After her professional career, she worked for Nike and now is the director of Brand Communications at the NBA Players' Association.
