Battista Named D2East Hoops East Region Player of the Decade

PRINCETON, N.J. – Assistant coach Lauren Battista was named the D2East Hoops East Region Player of the Decade, the website announced.

Battista's senior year at Bentley was spectacular as she led the team to the Division-II national title with an undefeated 35-0 season. She was honored as the WBCA Division-II National Player of the Year, the Capital One Academic All-American of the Year, CWSA/Honda Division II Athlete of the Year, and an NCAA Today's Top 10 Award honoree. Battista graduated summa cum laude with a degree in marketing and minor in finance.

Princeton is 17-1 overall and currently on a 13-game winning streak. The Tigers sit at 5-0 in the Ivy League, a half game in front of Yale. Head coach Carla Berube's squad is also No. 20 in the NCAA RPI. The Tigers head on the road this week to take on Yale (Feb. 14) and Brown (Feb. 15). Tip-off for the Yale contest is set for 6 p.m.
