SERIES INFORMATION
Friday marks the 69th meeting all-time between Princeton and Union. The Dutchmen hold a 37-7-25 all-time record in the series, thanks in large part to 17-3-0 run from 1/8/10 to 2/17/18. Princeton has won three of the last five meetings, including a sweep in Schenectady in the 2018 playoffs. Seven of the last 21 meetings have required overtime -- including a 2-1 Union win in New Jersey this season and 11 of the last 21 contests have either ended in ties or been one-goal games.
Saturday will be the 119th meeting all-time between Princeton and RPI. Princeton has won three of the last five meetings, going 3-1-1 against the Engineers of late. RPI holds a 26-19-5 edge in the series in Troy.
LAST TIME OUT VS. UNION
Matthew Thom scored early in the second period, but the Dutchmen countered with an equalizer 10 minutes later before eventually scoring the game-winner with 0:16 left in overtime to secure a 2-1 win at Hobey Baker Rink.Â
CRESSEY'S CORNER
Senior Jackson Cressey is tied for the team lead in points with 18 through 25 games. His 13 assists are most on the team, and he is the only Tiger to have scored on both the power play and penalty kill this season. After going four games without a point from 1/4-31, Cressey has five points over his last five games -- including a pair of assists last weekend against St. Lawrence. With 112 career points, he is 11th on the Tigers' all-time list and he is five away from the No. 10 spot. He's No. 4 on the career assists list with 81 -- tied with former NHLer Jeff Halpern and is six away from No. 3.
LEADERSHIP FROM THE TOP(ATIGH)
Captain Derek Topatigh has 10 points this season, eight of which have come in ECAC play. All four of his goals in ECAC action have come on the powerplay.
ANDONOVSKI ACTIVATED
Sophomore Corey Andonovski is tied for the team lead in assists (12) and points (18) over 23 games this season. He has six multi-point games this season and has notched 9 points over his last 12 games.
LUCKY LUKE
Luke Keenan has 12 points over his last 11 games dating back to 12/29/19 at Quinnipiac, well surpassing the three points he had in his first 14 games of the season. Aginst St. Lawrence on 2/14/20, Keenan had a career-high four points with two goals and two helpers.
POWERING UP
Princeton has scored a power-play goal in 10 of its last 16 games, scoring 15 total PPGs since the UNH game in Belfast. The Tigers now have at least one PPG in 15-of-25 games this season. Over its last three games, Princeton is 8-for-18 on the powerplay. Derek Topatigh leads the team with five power-play goals -- ranking No. 4 in the country in power-play goals by a defenseman. Jeremy Germain found the back of the net against Quinnipiac on 12/28, his first goal since 2/16/18 against RPI. The goal had extra meaning for the Hamden, Conn. native and grandson of Jim Armstrong -- 14-year head coach at Quinnipiac.Â
PAOLINI PAYING OFF
Defenseman Mark Paolini went 11 games without a point from 11/2/19-1/3/20, but has eight points in his last nine games -- including goals in three of his last five games.
YO, REID!
Reid Yochim had gone without a goal since scoring at Brown on 2/9/18 before finding the back of the next against St. Lawrence on 2/14/20. He had a goal and an assist in that game.
