Alarie Picks Up Second Straight Ivy Player of the Week Honor
March 02, 2020 | Women's Basketball
PRINCETON, N.J. – Bella Alarie earned her second straight Ivy League Player of the Week honor, the conference announced.
Â
It's her 20th career weekly accolade, leaving her one shy of Allison Feaster '98 of Harvard's conference mark.
Â
The back-to-back Ivy Player of the Week opened up last week's action with a 21-point, seven-rebound outing as the Tigers took down Penn, 80-44. She also added two assists, two blocks and a steal as Princeton clinched an Ivy Tournament berth.
Â
On Friday, Princeton clinched a share of the Ivy title with an 81-39 takedown of Brown. In that contest, Alarie put up 18 points, six caroms and four blocks. After the game, the team found out they won the outright crown as Yale beat Penn. She finished with a wonderful performance on her senior night, securing 19 points and 13 boards as the No. 21 Tigers disposed Yale with a 64-49 decision.
Â
Princeton is now 24-1 overall and sitting with a 20-game winning streak which is tied for the second longest streak in the NCAA. The Tigers wrap up the regular season at Columbia and Cornell this weekend.
