The Series With Stony Brook
These two teams have met just twice previously, each a Princeton win. The Tigers claimed the first meeting, 8-4, in the 2015 NCAA Tournament. Last season, the first-ever regular season meeting between the two teams was a 15-14 win for the Tigers in New Jersey.
Princeton trailed, 14-10, with 14:03 left in the game before scoring the final five goals to secure the win. Tess D'Orsi had the game-winner with 2:06 left – part of a three-goal game for her. Kyla Sears had six goals and two assists for Princeton, while Elizabeth George had three goals and four assists with nine draw controls. Sam Fish made 13 saves in goal.
Sears Crosses 200-Point Plateau
With her third goal at Columbia on Feb. 29, Kyla Sears became the eighth player in program history to reach 200 career points. She now sits on 202 career points.
Sears Named Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week
For the seventh time in her career, Kyla Sears earned Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week honors after a nine-goal, 13-point week in a pair of Princeton wins. She had five goals at Villanova, and followed up with four at Columbia

The Tigers dominated the Lions in NYC to claim their Ivy opener, running out to a 9-0 lead en route to a 19-7 win in the Big Apple. Kyla Sears had four goals and two assists, while Gaby Hamburger had five assists. Kari Buonanno and Grace Tauckus each had four goals.
Tigers Are Victorious At Villanova
Kyla Sears had five goals and two assists while freshman Grace Tauckus scored six goals as the Tigers knocked off Villanova, 18-13, on February 26. Marge Donovan had nine draw controls to lead the Tigers.
Princeton Drops Close Match With No. 8 Virginia
Two teams who entered last week inside the Top-10 put together the type of back-and-forth affair worthy of such ranking, but the Tigers were just short in a 12-10 loss to No. 8 Virginia. Kyla Sears had three goals and an assist, while Kari Buonanno and Grace Tauckus each had two goals. Marge Donovan had three caused turnovers and three ground balls on defense.
Tigers Take Season Opener At Temple
It wasn't pretty, but Princeton snagged a win to open 2020 with a 16-14 victory at Temple last weekend. Trailing by one with under 9:00 to play, Princeton scored four of the game's final five goals to gut out the win. Kyla Sears had seven points, scoring four times and adding three assists. Freshman Kari Buonanno had four goals and an assist in her collegiate debut.
Newcomers Make Noise
Princeton has seen 30 of its 63 goals (48%) scored this season come off the stick of a newcomer to its lineup. Freshmen Grace Tauckus (14) and Kari Buonanno (12) lead the rookies. Sophomore Kate Mulham has four goals of her own after missing all of 2019 with an injury.

Through two games, Princeton is 20-for-42 on free position attempts while opponents are 7-for-23. The Tigers had seven FPGs in their win at Temple and were 5-for-9 at Columbia last weekend. Kyla Sears is No. 2 in the country in free position goals-per-game with 1.75. Grace Tauckus is 5-for-6 on free positions, ranking No. 1 in the Ivy League and No. 5 in the nation in free position percentage (.833).

Princeton opens 2020 looking to pick up where it left off last season. All the Tigers did in 2019 was win the Ivy League regular season championship for the sixth consecutive season and follow that up with its third straight Ivy League Tournament title. The Tigers would go on to reach the NCAA Quarterfinals for the third time in the last five seasons.

Three Tigers were named to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List ahead of the 2020 season. Tess D'Orsi, Sam Fish and Kyla Sears are among the 50 players under consideration for national player of the year, all three on the Watch List for the second year in a row.
Preseason Pick
Princeton was chosen No. 1 in the Ivy League Preseason Media Poll for the fourth year in a row. The Tigers gathered 13 of the 16 first-place votes, finishing clear of Penn which was selected No. 2.
All-American Aspirations
Three Tigers were chosen Preseason All-Americans by Inside Lacrosse. Defender Marge Donovan was selected as a second-team All-American by ILWomen heading into the season, joined by third-team honorees Kyla Sears and Sam Fish.
