April 22, 2020 | Wrestling
The Ivy League's 2020 Coach of the Year and Wrestler of the Year earned finalist honors for FloWrestling's national awards, the winners for which were revealed Friday, April 24.
FloWrestling Coach of the Year finalist Chris Ayres, who won Ivy Coach of the Year honors for the fourth time in five years, helped the team to another historic season, winning the Ivy League title for the first time since 1986, defeating Cornell for the first time since 1986, defeating Rutgers for the first time since 1990, and sweeping New Jersey's other two Division I programs in Rider and Rutgers for the first time since 1983. Princeton earned four NWCA All-American honors, its most in a season in program history.
One of those All-American honorees was Patrick Glory, Princeton's first Ivy League Wrestler of the Year since 1986 and the team's first-ever Hodge Award top-eight finalist. A finalist for FloWrestling's Most Improved Wrestler award, Glory built on an already outstanding freshman season that saw him finish 30-7, win the EIWA title at 125, and earn All-America honors with a sixth-place finish at NCAAs. This winter, Glory finished 24-0, defending his 125-pound EIWA title and earning All-American status again.
