Jurczynski Gives Back To Schenectady Little League

Schenectady Little League's Opening Day was yesterday.
A few months ago, that day wasn't so certain.
In addition to the issues that arose from the COVID-19 pandemic, two separate acts of vandalism decimated the organization's facilities.
With that, Princeton Baseball assistant coach Alex Jurczynski felt the need to give back to his home. The assistant played for Schenectady through his entire childhood and wanted to do something positive for the kids that would get the experience he had.
So, he helped put together an equipment drive for the organization that gave him so much.
The response, needless to say, was remarkable.
Last week, with the help of the Schenectady Ole Timers Baseball Club, children were given a total over 1,000 pieces of equipment.
"Schenectady Little League is where I fell in love with baseball," said Jurczynski. "To think that a thoughtless act of vandalism could take that opportunity from a child in my community didn't sit well with me. I wanted to something to help so this was my way of giving back."
