Four Tigers Set to Join Women's Squash Program from Class of 2024
September 21, 2020 | Women's Squash
Following a 2020 season that ended with the Princeton women's squash team taking a national runner-up finish at the CSA's Howe Cup, the program welcomes a group of four players from the freshman Class of 2024.
Princeton graduated only one player from the Howe Cup final lineup and will return all of its three All-America honorees from 2020.
Here's a look at the newest Tigers:

Katherine Glaser
Villanova, Pa. • Agnes Irwin
Before Princeton — Earned All-America honors in 2019 and 2020 ... held rankings between No. 1 and No. 4 nationally from 2016 through 2020 ... played on the U.S. Junior National Team in the British Junior Open in 2015, 2018 and 2020, and in the Battle of the Border in Ontario from 2014 through 2017 ... played number one on the Agnes Irwin School varsity team through three team championship national finalist finishes from 2017 through 2019, playing at the team's top spot ... Agnes Irwin team captain in 2019-20 ... was the U-19 national mixed doubles champion in 2018 and 2019 ... earned first-team all-conference in the Inter-Ac annually from 2015 through 2019 ... earned 2019 and 2020 MASA (Mid-Atlantic Squash Association) first-team honors ... earned 2018-19 Agnes Irwin Athletics Most Valued Player award ... and the 2020 Agnes Irwin Coaches Award ... Junior Championship Tour winner 2015 ... U.S. Squash Scholar-Athlete annually from 2018 through 2020 ... won the Agnes Irwin School Alumnae Association English Prize in 2020 and the University of Pennsylvania Book Award in 2019 ... earned the Society of Women Engineers Highest Honors designation in 2019, National Merit honors in 2019, and earned the school's Highest Academic Honors from 2016 through 2020 ... part of the school's cum laude society and was the school's sophomore and junior class president.
Personal — Considering majoring in economics or in the School of Public and International Affairs with a certificate in computer science ... brother Will is in the Class of 2021 on Brown's squash team.
Glaser on Princeton: Princeton was the right choice for me because its program strikes the perfect balance between hard work and excellence while always holding team support and character as a top priority. I was immediately drawn to how close-knit the team at Princeton was and how Coach Ramsay created an environment where the girls work hard for the team rather than for themselves, how it was in junior squash. I think it will be the perfect place to take the next step in my squash career.

Isabel Paine
Princeton, N.J. • Lawrenceville School
Before Princeton — Senior captain and played at No. 1 after playing at the second, third and fourth positions earlier in her career ... helped her team to a fourth-place finish at the high school national tournament in 2018 as a sophomore.
Personal — Is the fifth member of her immediate family to go to Princeton, including father Peter ('85), mother Els ('86), sister Annelies ('16) and brother Peter ('19) ... Annelies was a member of the Princeton open rowing team, and father Peter rowed with the Princeton lights; Isabel also rowed in high school ... interned at a start-up based at Princeton's Keller Center called HomeWorks Trenton, a program to facilitate an after-school learning and living environment for girls in Trenton, started by squash alumna Natalie Tung '18 ... interested in majoring in economics or in the School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton.
Paine on Princeton: I wanted to walk onto this team because the girls are known for being incredibly kind, welcoming, and driven, and they seem like amazing role models and student athletes.
Ramsay on Paine: Isabel is no stranger to Princeton and Jadwin Gym as she started her squash as a community junior squash member. Isabel is a solid player with great potential and I think her game will explode as she begins to face challenging training sessions every day as a Tiger. In high school at Lawrenceville, her team finished eighth in the country this past season as she shared the top two ladder positions throughout the season. Welcome to Tiger Squash Isabel!

Olivia Robinson
New York, N.Y. • Chapin School
Before Princeton — U.S. Squash U19 national champion in 2019 ... held a No. 2 national ranking among U19 players ... competed for the U.S. at the World Junior Open in Malaysia in 2019.
Personal — Brother Nicholas Robinson is a freshman on the squash team at Cornell ... planning on studying in the School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton.
Robinson on Princeton: I could not be more grateful for the opportunity to play for Princeton's women's squash team. Although I have yet to experience "normal" Princeton, I already know that I made the right choice. The team has become like a family to me, and I am excited to compete alongside such incredible women and coaches.
Ramsay on Robinson: Olivia Robinson has been a top-ranked player in all five age groups in the national rankings. Her top ranking was number one in the U17 and finished second in her late year in the U19. Needless to say, she was a top recruit, touted by all the top-ranked collegiate squash teams. Olivia has an outstanding work ethic and had the opportunity to have great coaching throughout her junior career which has positioned her well to impact the top part of our Tiger lineup. She is an aggressive and very competitive player who is able to stay calm and focused and play smart squash under great pressure. Welcome to Tiger Squash Olivia!

Saachi Singh

Personal — Interested in majoring in economics at Princeton.
Singh on Princeton: I chose Princeton because of its tight-knit community and its amazing resources. I also loved Princeton's campus when I first visited. I had always heard such great things about the squash program, and after meeting Coach Ramsay and the girls on the team, I knew that I wanted to join the team. The team truly is a family and they have all been so kind, welcoming, and helpful, especially during this unprecedented time. I'm so excited to be a part of such a talented and hardworking group, and I can't wait to be with everyone in person.
Ramsay on Singh: We are happy to welcome Saachi Singh on to the team this year. Saachi has been ranked in the top 30 in the U.S. most of her junior career. Ramsay on Glaser: I am thrilled Katherine is a Princeton Tiger. She was a highly recruited junior squash player and she will impact our line up all four years. She will bring a great work ethic to training and a fierce competitive drive. I see Katherine being able to grow her game, and her potential is limitless. As a junior player, she consistently ranked in the top five in the U.S. in each age group. On her high school team, she controlled the number one slot and helped her team reach the finals of the national championships, losing to a strong and dominant Greenwich Academy powerhouse. Welcome to Tiger Squash Katherine!
