No. 13 Princeton Seeks NWPC Title At Home This Weekend

PRINCETON, N.J. – The No. 13 Princeton Tigers take part in the Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) Tournament this weekend at DeNunzio Pool.
Princeton will play the winner of the Brown and Iona contest (Nov. 19 at 1 p.m.) on Saturday at 12 p.m. If head coach Dustin Litvak's team wins, it will play in the title game on Sunday at 1 p.m. If it loses, Princeton will play in the third-place contest on Sunday at 11 a.m.
The Tigers are 23-7 overall and went 8-2 in the NWPC during the regular season. Princeton ended the season with a 5-1 stretch in the conference to secure the No. 1 seed in the tournament. One of those wins was over No. 12 Harvard, the program's first win against the Crimson since the 2018 NWPC Championship game. Princeton has eight wins against nationally ranked opponents include a California trip that featured three straight victories over No. 17 Loyola Marymount, No. 10 Pepperdine, and No. 13 UC Irvine.
Roko Pozaric has been a standout star for Princeton as he is tied for the team lead in goals (59) and paces the squad in assists (38), steals (37) and sprint wins (91). He earned seven NWPC weekly honors this season.
Keller Maloney has also been outstanding for Litvak's squad as he is tied with Pozaric with 59 tallies. He's right behind the freshman with 36 helpers and has added 39 drawn ejections and 18 steals.
Princeton has three other players with at least 30 goals in George Caras (34), Mason Killion (32) and Wyatt Benson (31). The Tigers' deep squad also has three more players with at least 20 tallies in Mitchel l Cooper (27), Yurian Quinones (25) and Vladan Mitrovic (23).
Billy Motherway and Antonio Knez have been another reason for the Tigers' remarkable season as a 1-2 combo in goal. Motherway is 10-1 with a .545 save percentage while Knez is 12-6 with 169 saves and 14 steals.
