Men's Ice Hockey Storms By Brown, 6-3
November 05, 2021 | Men's Ice Hockey
The six goals scored are the most on the road by a Princeton team since the Tigers beat Dartmouth, 7-1, in Hanover on 11/2/18.
Six different players scored for the Tigers – four of whom netted their first career goal. The six different goal scorers are the most by the Tigers since seven different players had a goal in a 7-1 win – also at Brown – to close out the first round of the ECAC Playoffs on 3/2/18.
Pito Walton had a goal and an assist, while Christian O'Neill had two helpers. Overall, 14 different skaters had at least one point.
Aidan Porter made 13 saves to record his first career win in goal.
For the second game in a row, Princeton fell behind early via a fluky goal. Seconds after Nick Seitz was whistled for holding just 0:33 into the game, Brett Bliss scored on a deflected wrist-shot to give Brown a 1-0 lead before the game was even a minute old.
Rather than wilt in the face of a bad bounce to start the game, Princeton settled in and dialed up the game's next three goals – each coming from a first-time scorer.
Defenseman Mike Kennedy netted the first for Princeton, firing a wrister off two posts and in with 2:34 remaining in the opening period.

As the second period started, it was Princeton's turn to score an early goal. This time, it was Ian Murphy who broke in on a short-handed 2-on-1 with Noah de la Durantaye and looking off a Brown defender before sniping a SHG 0:20 into the middle stanza for his first career tuck.

Mackenzie Merriman would follow just over four minutes later to give Princeton a 3-1 lead. All five Brown skaters converged upon Pito Walton as the Tigers put together solid puck possession deep in in the Bears' zone and Merriman slipped to the slot area where he one-timed a Walton pass by Kania to open his collegiate scoring account.

The Bears opened the third period with their second power-play goal of the game. Luke Krys sent a wrister from the point which found its way through traffic and inside the left post to cut Princeton's lead to 5-2 with 15:07 left in the game.
Corey Andonovski netted his first of the season with 7:45 left in the game, breaking in alone after his teammates killed a penalty he took and scoring on a breakaway. Aidan Porter made a tremendous save just as the penalty expired, and Mark Paolini sent a stretch pass through Brown's defense to spring Andonovski free.
