Men's Ice Hockey Falls In OT At Union, 1-0

For the second game in a row, Princeton played an opponent to a scoreless regulation only to fall in overtime. Union scored 2:34 into overtime, Liam Robertson finishing a 2-on-1 after a turnover at the Princeton blueline to net the game-winner in a 1-0 defeat for the Tigers.
Aidan Porter made 19 saves for Princeton in goal, including nine in the first period. Connor Murphy stopped all 34 shots faced, including 13 in the second period and 12 in the third.
Midway through the third period, Princeton dialed up the pressure with a strong cycle in the offensive zone that eventually led to a tripping call on Union goalie Connor Murphy. Princeton had three Grade-A chances on the man-advantage, but Murphy atoned for his infraction with three saves. Princeton had another power play late in the third, with 2:07 to play, but was unable to convert.
Shots were even through the first period, each side sending nine attempts on goal.
In the second period, Princeton carried play with a 13-5 edge in shots on goal. Still, the Tigers were unable to crack through on Connor Murphy.
Princeton is back at it on Saturday, finishing the weekend with a 7 p.m. tilt against RPI at Houston Field House.
