Women's Basketball Falls At Fordham, 76-67

BRONX, N.Y. – The Fordham Rams ran out with a second-half 15-0 run to defeat the Princeton Tigers, 76-67, at Rose Hill Gym on Sunday afternoon.

Trailing by one, 41-40, the Rams used that 15-point sprint to end the third quarter, taking a 55-41 advantage into the final 10 minutes. Fordham led by as many as 18 in the fourth stanza before earning the nine-point victory.

Abby Meyers matched her career high with 22 points including a personal-best six treys. 14 of her 22 points came in the fourth frame. She also had seven rebounds including six off the offensive glass. Ellie Mitchell contributed 12 points, eight caroms and four helpers. Julia Cunningham just missed a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds in the loss.

Princeton found itself trailing by seven, 20-13, after the first quarter of action. Fordham extended its lead to 11 before a 16-7 push by Princeton over a six-minute stretch cut the deficit to two, 33-31, at halftime.

The first portion of the third frame featured three lead changes with Mitchell's two from the charity stripe giving the Tigers a 41-40 advantage before the Rams' run.

Princeton falls to 6-2 on the season. Head coach Carla Berube's squad will welcome Seton Hall to Jadwin Gym on Dec. 11. Tip-off is set for 12 p.m.
