April 28, 2021 | Softball
With the resumption of local intercollegiate competition as Princeton University has moved to phase four of the return-to-play process, the Princeton softball team will compete in its first intercollegiate game since March 1, 2020, when the Tigers head to Villanova on Thursday for a 2:30 p.m. single game.
Live stats will be available here, and the video stream will be available here.
Of the 14 Tigers to have an at-bat during the eight games the team played in 2020, nine are back this year, including the two Tigers to hit .500 or better in 2020 in sophomores outfielder Serena Starks (9-17, .529) and catcher/utility Adrienne Chang (6-12, .500). Princeton has two returning All-Ivy honoree in senior outfielder Mackenzie Meyer, a 2018 first-teamer, and classmate pitcher Allie Reynolds, a second-teamer in 2019. In the circle, Reynolds and sophomore Alexis Laudenslager are back from those who saw innings in 2020.
Villanova co-leads the Big East with DePaul at 10-1 in the league and has a league-best 26-11 record. The Wildcats are set to return to conference play at Seton Hall over the weekend.
