Men’s Tennis Welcomes Three Newcomers

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton University men's tennis team will welcome three newcomers in 2021-2022, as announced by Head Coach Billy Pate.
The new Tigers include Alan Kam of Mexico City, Mexico, Filippos Astreinidis of Athens, Greece, and Matthew Bosancic of Mebourne, Australia.
"Each of these young men have a great deal of international tennis experience and have proven themselves in a variety of high-level competition and diverse playing conditions around the world," Pate. "Most important, we feel each of these outstanding athletes are just getting started in terms of the trajectory of where their level can be. We are excited for them to join the Princeton family and join a very experienced team this fall."

Alan Kam - Mexico City, Mexico
Kam trained at IMG academy in Bradenton, Florida. He reached a high of No. 166 in the International Tennis Federation (ITF) rankings, was rated as a Blue Chip and ranked as high as No. 11 on Tennisrecruitng.com for the class of '21. In the Mexican U18 rankings, Kam is ranked No. 3.

Filippos Astreinidis - Athens, Greece
Winner of the 2019 U16 Greek Championships, Astreinidis is No. 1 in Greece for his age division. With a career-high ITF junior ranking of No. 238 he has won five ITF titles, including one in singles and four in doubles. He attended Costeas-Geitonas School in Athens.

Matthew Bosancic – Melbourne, Australia
Younger brother of Thomas, a rising junior on the team, Bosancic reached a high of No. 250 in the ITF rankings. He won doubles titles at Lanarca, Cyprus, along with Adelaide, Australia, and was runner up in Christchurch, New Zealand, and Banja Luka, Bosnia. Bosancic was the singles and doubles champion of his home state of Victoria while he also competed in the Australian Open Juniors and played ITF events in 14 different countries.
