Open Rowing Has Banner Day at Dad Vail Regatta

PHILADELPHIA – The Princeton women's open crew team racked up four gold medals and a silver at the Dad Vail Regatta on the Schuylkill River.
The 1X boat collected the first gold of the day, winning by two seconds over Temple and 19.9 seconds over Oklahoma City.
Princeton's second gold came from the pair grouping. That duo crossed the finish line at 7:31.73, over 52 seconds ahead of second place Lafayette, securing the Bob and Peggy Morro Bowl.
The 2X crew easily won its heat (8:01.56) by almost 29 seconds. In the final, the Tigers disposed the rest of the field (7:45.59), 14 seconds in front. The women's lightweight boat was third.
The Tigers' two 4+ selections were first (7:48.18) and second (7:58.54) in their heat, clearing the competition by 12 seconds. Those two, again, finished 1-2, in the final, rowing through the line at 7:13.90 and 7:23.96, nabbing the Margaret McNiff trophy and a silver medal.
