May 27, 2021 | Women's Rowing - Open
SARASOTA, Fla. – The Princeton women's open rowing crew heads down to Florida for the 2021 NCAA Rowing Championships (May 28-30).
"We're excited to be at the NCAA Championships," stated head coach Lori Dauphiny. "The team is ready to give it their all. We're grateful to all those who made this opportunity possible and we're proud of the team."
Princeton will have its 1V, 2V and V4 rowing at the NCAA regatta. Its 1V is seeded ninth, 2V seeded 16th and its V4 ranked No. 10.
Tickets for the NCAA Championship regatta can be purchased online prior to the championship (all-session) here or here. For fans who cannot attend the races, webcasts for each day will be available here.
The opening heats for each boat are on Friday. The V8 races at 9 a.m., 2V at 9:48 a.m., and the V4 goes off at 11:36 a.m. Top two advance to semifinals while the rest get the opportunity to move on the repechages.
The Tigers have collected 10 team top-10 finishes in the last 12 years at the NCAAs. The V8 boat has just two appearances outside of the top 10 since 1997. The Tigers have picked up three championships with the V8 (2006, 2011) and the 2V (1997).
Princeton began the 2021 campaign with a win over Drexel by 14 seconds. The Tigers dropped a decision to Rutgers before rebounding with victory over Temple. The regular season finale was a banner day for the program as it earned four gold medals and a silver at the Dad Vail Regatta.
