Smith Off To Outstanding Beginning To MILB Season

Here's an update on the former Tigers and how they're doing in their minor league seasons ...
Ryan Smith – Tri-City Dust Devils – High A – Smith was recently called up to the Dust Devils and made a sparkling debut last Saturday. He struck out nine in six scoreless innings in a 4-2 win over the Hillsboro Hops. Smith has 1.34 ERA in six games this season with 53 strikeouts in 33 2/3 innings.
James Proctor – Daytona Tortugas – Low A – Proctor has had an incredible start to the 2021 season, recording a 1.88 ERA in seven games. He was named Low-A Southeast Pitcher of the Month for June. He combined to throw a no-hitter on May 23. He has struck out 40 in 28 2/3 innings.
Jake Boone – Fredericksburg Nationals – Low A – Boone has nine hits for the Nationals, adding five RBI and a stolen base.
Alec Keller – Rochester Red Wings – AAA – Keller has posted a .292/.382/.384 in 65 at-bats for the Red Wings this year. On June 5th, he had four hits, two RBI and two runs scored in an 18-1 victory over the Worcester Red Sox.
Mike Ford – Scranton Wilkes-Barre Yankees – AAA – Ford had two hits in 24 at-bats for the Yankees to date.
