Koven Nabs Silver Medal at U-23 World Rowing Championships

RACICE, Czech Republic – Lucy Koven '24 earned the Princeton's women's crew team a silver medal at the U-23 World Rowing Championships on Saturday.
Koven and her teammate Caitlin Esse (United States) placed second behind Croatia (7:17.20).
It was very exciting race," said Princeton head coach Lori Dauphiny. "It wasn't until the second half of the race that they were in position for a silver medal and continuing to move. They raced with great tenacity, and we are very proud of them. They did an awesome job."
The United States was third after the first 500m before jumping France for second by .03 seconds at the 1000m. Koven and Esse expanded their advantage for the silver medal place by almost three seconds at 1500m and collected a second-place tally (7:19.79).
Katherine George '25 (Great Britain 2X) secured third place in her semifinal (7:07.75) to earn a spot in the final. Her and her teammate Zoe Adamson will race for a medal against Romania, Netherlands, Germany, Greece and Belarus on July 11th at 5:40 a.m.
Greta Jaanson '24 (Estonia 1x) was fourth in the C Final (8:01.12).
Anne du Croo Jongh '25 (Netherlands 4-) and her four race in the B Final on July 11th at 3:30 a.m.
