Dietrick '15 and 2020 Atlanta Dream Named Sports Humanitarian Team of the Year

PRINCETON, N.J. – The 2020 Atlanta Dream were named the Sports Humanitarian Team of the Year at the Sports Humanitarian Awards on Monday.

Blake Dietrick '15 was there along with several teammates to accept the award. The Dream were outspoken leaders in the fight for racial injustice and voter suppression.

The Sports Humanitarian Awards is a celebration of the impact made by athletes, teams and sports industry professionals who are using sports to make a difference in their communities and throughout the world.

As the winner in the Sports Humanitarian Team of the Year category, the Dream will direct a $100,000 grant from ESPN to the New Georgia Project. The NGP is a non-partisan effort to register and civically engage Georgians, advocate for civil and human rights, and advance justice on behalf of historically marginalized communities.

The Sports Humanitarian Awards presented by ESPN will have a television special on July 24th at 2 p.m. on ABC.
