Princeton Announces 2021 Football Schedule; Tigers To Play Twice On ESPNU
July 06, 2021 | Football
The 151st season of Princeton football begins Sept. 18 with a trip to Lehigh and includes home games against Harvard and Yale, as well as ESPNU games at Cornell and Dartmouth on back-to-back Friday nights.Â
There will be four games on Powers Field at Princeton Stadium, the first of which will be Sept. 25 against Stetson in the first-ever meeting between the two. The Ivy League opener will be on Powers Field the following Saturday, Oct. 2, against Columbia, in a game that can be seen on NBC Sports Philly and SNY in New York City, in addition to being on ESPN+. In addition to the seven Ivy games and the games against Lehigh and Stetson, Princeton will also play on Oct. 9 at Monmouth, a team that has competed in the last two FCS playoffs.Â
All Princeton games will be available on ESPN+ or ESPNU.Â
Princeton, who has won three of the last six league championships, will return seven starters on offense and seven on defense from a team that went 8-2 in 2019 and 10-0 in 2018.Â
"We are so excited for the 2021 season," says Charles W. Caldwell Jr. head football coach Bob Surace. "Our guys can't wait to get started again. We had a very productive spring, and everyone on our roster is looking forward to the opportunity to compete this fall. We're thrilled to welcome fans back to Powers Field. We have a very challenging schedule, and every week will be another chance for us to improve and hopefully put ourselves in position to play for another championship in November."
