Gaffney '24 Reaches 2X Semifinal at U-23 World Rowing Championships

RACICE, Czech Republic – Eion Gaffney '24 is now the fourth Princeton men's lightweight member to get to either a semifinal or final at the U-23 World Rowing Championships.
Gaffney (Ireland 2x) and his teammate Rory O'Neill breezed to the semifinal with an impressive 14.84-second victory (6:32.71) in their repechage. The Irish pair will now race on July 10th at 6:14 a.m. If they finish in the top three, they will move onto the final on July 11th at 6:40 a.m.
"It's been a great showing for Eion," said Princeton head coach Marty Crotty. "With Sydney and Aaron already in finals, it'd be great to add some more!"

Nick Aarnow '25 (United States 1x) races in the first semifinal at 5:04 a.m. If he finishes in the top three, he will race in the final on July 11th at 5:25 a.m.
