Horsted's Three TD Receptions Lead Bears To Win In Preseason FInale
August 29, 2021 | Football
Princeton's Jesper Horsted has a three-day wait until the final day of cuts after the NFL preseason concluded. That's one day for each of his touchdown receptions Saturday night.
Horsted made a serious push to be on the Chicago Bears roster with his performance against the Tennessee Titans. Playing for a franchise once known as "the Monsters of the Midway," Horsted had his own monster night, catching five passes for 104 yards and three touchdowns in a 27-24 Bears win.
Â
His first TD reception came in a crowded space in the end zone as he hauled in a throw from first-round pick Justin Fields and managed to get both feet down before falling out of bounds. He followed that with two more touchdown catches from former Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles, one on a six-yard catch and the other on a beautiful one-handed catch and run that covered 54 yards and gave Chicago the winning points.
Â
Now in his third year with the Bears, Horsted has eight career receptions and one touchdown – against the Lions on Thanksgiving Day – for his first two years, most of which has been spent on the practice squad. He will find out by 3 pm Tuesday if he has made the Bears' 53-man roster, though if he is cut he will almost surely be picked up by another team or find himself back on the practice squad.

Horsted, Princeton's all-time leader in receptions and receiving touchdowns, was an All-American his senior year after helping the Tigers go 10-0. He was also a first-team All-Ivy League baseball player as well.TD???
