August 03, 2021 | Men's Water Polo
PRINCETON – The Princeton men's water polo team has announced its 2021 schedule, head coach Dustin Litvak has announced.
"After a year away from competition, we could not be more excited to get back in the pool and represent our university," said Litvak. "Once again, we have filled our schedule with some of the top teams from both coasts as consistent with our goal of building a program that is competitive with everyone. We will be tested early as our first two weekends include games against Cal, Stanford, Cal Baptist and Bucknell, all of whom played in the NCAA tournament this past spring. After that we head to California to take on three very good opponents as we continue to test ourselves, learn, and progress, heading into conference play and the post-season."
The 2021 season gets underway at the U.S. Navy Invitational (Sept. 4-5). The Tigers battle Mt. St Mary's, George Washington, Cal, and Johns Hopkins. The following week, Litvak's group hosts the Princeton Invitational (Sept. 10-12) with contests vs. Cal Baptist, Stanford, Johns Hopkins, Bucknell and Fordham.
Princeton makes its first trip to California with battles vs. Loyola Marymount, Pepperdine, and UC Irvine (Sept. 18-19). The Tigers head back home for games vs. Navy and Wagner to finish off September.
October begins with Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) action vs. Harvard, Brown, and MIT (Oct. 2-3). The following weekend, Princeton travels to Iona and St. Francis-Brooklyn. Another West Coast trip is up next as the Tigers take on Pacific (Oct. 18), Cal (Oct. 29) and the Santa Clara Invitational (Oct. 22-24). October wraps up with road games vs. Harvard, MIT, and Brown (Oct. 30-31).
The regular season finishes with home contests vs. St. Francis-Brooklyn and Iona on Nov. 6. The NWPC Tournament is at Princeton from Nov. 19-21.
