Liu, Tigers Show Well in Stroke Play at Ivy Intercollegiate

Princeton sophomore Victoria Liu took third in the chase for medalist honors and the Tiger women's golf team took third in the team standings over Monday's two rounds of stroke play at the Ivy Intercollegiate at Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, N.J.
The field includes all six Ivy League programs and six from the ACC. Princeton was the top Ivy team in the field, finishing at +20 behind team champ North Carolina, at +13, and runner-up Florida State, at +18. The top finisher from each of those two programs shared medalist honors, with UNC's Krista Junkkari and FSU's Lottie Woad each finishing at -3, one stroke in front of Liu at -2.
Liu was the top Ivy player in the field by three strokes, with Columbia's Allison Paik tying for eighth overall at +8. The Tigers were four spots and 15 strokes in front of Harvard, the second-highest Ivy on the team tote. Grace Ni carded an eagle in Monday's second round, making the par-five seventh hole in three.
The event will continue Tuesday at 9 a.m. with match play, putting an Ivy League player against an ACC player by order of finish in Monday's stroke play. While Monday's play was on the Lower Course, Tuesday's will move to the Upper Course.Â
