No. 11 Men's Water Polo Continues Hot Streak; Win Streak Up To Five

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, N.Y. – The No. 11 Princeton Tigers stretched its winning streak to five with two wins over Northeast Water Polo foes on Saturday.
No. 11 Princeton 10, Iona 7
The first half was defensive battle with Yurian Quinones giving the Tigers a 2-1 lead with 3:17 left in the second frame. George Caras gave Princeton a two-goal advantage before the score settled at 3-2 at halftime.
The game was tied at 3-all and 4-all before the Tigers registered the three straight goals from Luke Johnston, George Caras and Quinones. The Gaels got one back with nine seconds to go in the quarter.
Johnston and Quiniones opened the scoring in the fourth frame and Iona never got closer than three the rest of the way.
Goals: Quinones 3, Johnston 2, Caras 2, Ohl, K. Maloney, Molloy

The Terriers scored two of the first three goals and led 3-2 after eight minutes. JP Ohl got the Tigers within one, 6-5, scoring with two seconds left in the first half. St. Francis-Brooklyn took another two-goal advantage in the third quarter but couldn't pull away as Quinones kept the Tigers within distance, 8-7, with one frame to go.
The two squads were even at 9-all less than halfway through the final quarter, but Keller Maloney scored the game-winner before a Vladan Miitrovic extra tally.
