Men's Swimming & Diving Falls Just Short at Columbia

NEW YORK – The Princeton University men's swimming & diving team came up just short inside the Percy Uris Natatorium Friday against Columbia, falling 155-145.
Despite the narrow loss, the Tigers ended the day with multiple event winners.
The 1,000 meters was a strong event for the Tigers as John Ehling earned the win, touching the wall at 9:18.48. Mitch Schott finished second in 9:20.52, and Peyton Werner third in 9:37.83.
In the 100 backstroke, Brett Feyerick came away with a first-place finishing with a time of 49.67. Max Walther also earned a first-place finish in the 50 freestyle, touching the wall at 20.63.
Tyler Hong continued his impressive start to the season, winning the 200 backstroke in 1:46.75.
The Tigers earned a 1-2-3 sweep in the 200 IM, with Josh Brown finishing first (1:48.42), Tyler Hong second (1:50.98) and Lucas Strøbek third (1:51.59).
Princeton also touched the wall first in the 400 freestyle relay, with the team of Sabovic, Walther, Nicholas Lim and Scott posting a time of 3:00.47.
The 100 freestyle was also a strong event for the Tigers, with Schott finishing second with a time of 45.40, and Walther third in 45.42.
Additionally, Raunak Khosla finished second in the 200 butterfly, clocking in at 1:47.94, while Hunter Kim took third in 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:02.90. Lim and Ehling finished second and third in the 500 freestyle, with times of 4:32.10 and 4:32.91.
Princeton also earned two of the top-three spots in the 200 freestyle, with Adell Sabovic coming in second in 1:39.87, and Max Hunger third in 1:40.22.

The Tigers will take on Cornell and the University of Pennsylvania in a tri-meet on Friday, December 18, and Saturday, December 19, in Ithaca, New York.
