A Perfect 10: Women's Basketball Stretches Win Streak To 10 With Takedown of Dartmouth, 70-48

HANOVER, N.H. – Abby Meyers and Julia Cunningham combined for 35 points as the Princeton Tigers easily took care of the Dartmouth Big Green, 70-48, at Leeds Arena on Saturday afternoon.

Meyers registered a game-high 19 points while Cunningham added 16 points. The two combined to go 8-of-15 from beyond the arc. Meyers was two rebounds shy of a double-double, adding three steals and two assists in the win.

Princeton ran off eight of the first 10 points of the contest and took a 19-10 lead into the second quarter. Dartmouth closed the deficit to three, 24-21, with 3:55 left in the first half, but five straight by the Tigers set the score at 29-21 at halftime.

The Tigers opened the second half with 10 straight points, extending their lead to 18, 39-21. Princeton did not let up, doubling up Dartmouth, 50-25, with 3:46 to go in the third quarter before taking a 26-point advantage, 55-29, into the fourth frame. During the third stanza, the Tigers outscored the Big Green, 26-8, held a 17-4 rebounding margin, and allowed just three baskets.

Dartmouth did not get within 20 the rest of the way.

Princeton now sits at 17-4 overall and 9-0 in the Ivy League. With a Penn loss, the Tigers will clinch a spot in the Ivy League Tournament. Head coach Carla Berube's squad has won 10 in a row and has a NCAA best 35-game Ivy winning streak. Dartmouth fell to 2-20 and 1-9 in the conference action.

The Tigers take on Brown (Feb. 18, 7 p.m.) and Yale (Feb. 19, 6 p.m.) at Jadwin Gym next weekend. Â
