February 18, 2022 | Men's Tennis
ITHACA, N.Y. – The Princeton University men's tennis team got off to a strong start at the ECAC Championships, outlasting the University of Pennsylvania 4-3 Friday morning at the Reis Tennis Center.
"We played solid doubles this morning and that got us off to a good start," said head coach Billy Pate. "As always, it was a hard-fought battle in singles with Penn. They have a very good team and kept the pressure up. Karl and Justin locked in at key moments to secure their matches and not letting it come down to 3rd sets. We look forward to another battle with Harvard tomorrow."
Princeton got off to a strong start in doubles; Ryan Seggerman and Justin Barki took down Edoardo Graziani and Jason Hildebrant at No. 2, 6-4, while the team of Thomas Bosancic and Filippos Astreinidis earned a 6-3 victory over Aditya Gupta and Zach Smith at the No. 3 spot.
In singles, No. 64 Poling added a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Hildebrandt at No. 2, and No. 113 Justin Bradki defeated Kevin Zhu, 6-2, 7-6 (7-4), at No. 3. At the No. 6 position, Will Peters overcame Baylor Sai, 6-1, 6-4.
