No. 11 Seed Princeton To Take On No. 6 Seed Kentucky In The NCAA Tournament

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton Women's Basketball team will be the No. 11 seed in the Bridgeport Region and take on the No. 6 seeded Kentucky Wildcats on Saturday in Bloomington, Ind.

"I'm looking forward to this," said Princeton head coach Carla Berube. "After our season got cancelled two years ago, it was tough and watching it unfold last season was even tougher. To be now heading to the Big Dance, it's really exciting."

The Tigers received a No. 11 seed after going to 24-4 overall and winning the outright Ivy League regular season title and Ivy Tournament championship. Princeton is currently ranked No. 24 in the AP Top 25 poll while Kentucky Is No. 16.

This is women's basketball program's ninth appearance in the NCAA Tournament, all that have come since 2010. Princeton last appeared in the NCAA Tournament in 2019, dropping an 82-77 decision to No. 17 Kentucky. The Tigers have won one contest in the NCAA Tournament, taking down No. 9 seeded Green Bay, 80-70, in 2015, the second victory by an Ivy school in the NCAAs. Princeton also set the conference record, securing the eighth seed in 2015, the highest by an Ivy school ever.
