Marsalo Earns Ivy Player and Rookie of the Week Honors

In Princeton's first such awards of the new season, Tiger freshman Sophia Marsalo has earned recognition as the Ivy League Player and Rookie of the Week.
Marsalo hit .429 (12-28) over Princeton's nine-game trip to Southern California. A three-hit game against Sacred Heart on Saturday led a week in which Marsalo had four multi-hit games. Marsalo drove in seven runs on the trip, which accounted for all seven of her RBI on the new season.
Princeton won four of the last five games on the trip, which were Princeton's last before opening the Ivy League season this weekend at Princeton Softball Stadium at Strubing Field against Brown.
