PRINCETON, N.J. – Abby Meyers became the program's fourth All-American as she was selected as an Associated Press Honorable Mention All-America, the news organization announced today.
Â
"I am so proud of Abby and this incredible accomplishment," said Princeton head coach Carla Berube. "She has worked extremely hard on her game and I'm so happy she's receiving this national recognition. With her steady leadership and consistent play on the court, she has helped propel us to an Ivy League Championship and a berth in the NCAA Tournament. Our team and staff are so thrilled that Abby is an All American!"
Â
Meyers leads the Tigers in scoring at 17.8 points per game, having made 45.8 percent of her shots while knocking down 40.9 percent from beyond the arc.
Â
The senior captain has scored at least 10 points in every game and has 11 20-point performances. Her 498 points this season are the third-most in Princeton history while her 185 field goals are seventh most and 404 attempts are fifth highest.
Â
She has at least 10 points in 29 straight games dating back to the 2019-20 season. That's the best stretch since Bella Alarie registered at least 10 points in 26 consecutive contests between the 2017-18 and 2019-20 campaigns.
Â
Meyers is one of the most prolific scorers in Division I. Her 17.8 points per game are 62nd in the country while her 6.6 field goals per contest are 60th and her 2.4 three-pointers per game are 61st.
Â
The unanimous Ivy League Player of the Year and unanimous First-Team All-Ivy selection leads the conference in field goals, three-point field goal percentage, is second in free throw percentage and scoring, is third in three-pointers and fourth in field goal percentage.
Â
She was also named a finalist for the 2022 Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Award presented by Her Hoops Stats.
Â
Meyers joins Princeton all-time greats Niveen Rasheed '13 (2013), Blake Dietrick '15 (2015) and Bella Alarie '20 (2019-20) as AP All-Americans.
