Meyers Named Unanimous Ivy Player of The Year; Princeton Collects Seven Ivy Honors

PRINCETON, N.J. – Fresh off another Ivy League regular season title, the Princeton Tigers had a stellar day collecting All-Ivy honors.
 Abby Meyers was a unanimous selection for the Ivy Player of the Year and First-Team All-Ivy. Meyers also secured Academic All-Ivy. Ellie Mitchell was honored as the Ivy Defensive Player of the Year while Carla Berube earned Ivy Coach of the Year.
 Julia Cunningham collected First-Team All-Ivy while Grace Stone picked up Honorable Mention All-Ivy as well.
Abby Meyers - Ivy Player of the Year, First-Team All-Ivy, Academic All-Ivy
It's the eighth time in program history that Princeton has had the Ivy Player of the Year and the sixth time it was unanimous. Meyers is the fifth player to earn the mark, give the Tigers fourth straight winners.

Meyers is having one of the best scoring seasons in program history. She leads the Tigers in scoring (17.7), having scored at least 10 points in every game and has 10 20-point performances. Her 460 points are the eighth-most.

The senior captain is not having just a great season for an Ivy player, she's one of the best scorers in Division I. She ranks in the top 100 among all players in scoring (67th), field goals per game (6.6, 56th), three-pointers per contest (2.3, 70th). She leads the Ivy League in field goals, three-point field goal percentage, is second in free throw percentage and scoring, is third in three-pointers and fourth in field goal percentage.
Ellie Mitchell - Ivy Defensive Player of the Year
Mitchell, along with Cunningham and Stone, is a pillar on one of the best defensive teams in the country. The Tigers rank No. 3 in the NCAA in scoring defense (50.0), 7th in field goal percentage defense (34.5), 13th in three-point field goal percentage defense (25.8), 26th in turnovers forced (19.62) and 29th in steals per game (10.3). Princeton has given up 10 points or less in 38 quarters this season. This is the fourth time the Tigers have had the Ivy Defensive Player of the Year as Lauren Polansky '13 was a three-time winner (2011-13).

Individually, Mitchell has been one of the best rebounders in the nation. She has grabbed 102 offensive rebounds (25th) and 262 overall (44th), which is tied for the seventh in a single season in Princeton history. She's averaging 10.1 rebounds per game, ranking 37th among all players.

Julia Cunningham - First-Team All-Ivy
Cunningham has been one of the best scorers in the Ivies, averaging a career-high 13.5 points per contest. A steady contributor, the junior captain has registered double figures in 22 of the Tigers' 26 games this season. She's knocking down 34.9 percent from beyond the arc on 4.8 attempts per game. Cunningham has set new personal marks in rebounding (5.7), steals (40), blocks (16) and will set a new benchmark in assists.

Grace Stone - Honorable Mention All-Ivy
Stone has had a banner season with career highs in scoring (9.3), rebounding (3.7), assists (2.6), blocks (13) and steals (43). The junior has 10 double-digit performances including a career-high 19 points at Columbia in a game that helped Princeton clinch a share of the Ivy League title

Carla Berube - Ivy Coach of the Year
Berube picked up her second straight Ivy Coach of the Year award. Princeton has not lost an Ivy game in her two years and has gone 48-5 overall. The Tigers have the longest conference winning streak in the country, both men or women, at 40, which also the longest such streak in Ivy history. Princeton is No. 21 in the NCAA NET Rankings which is the new formula that the NCAA committee uses in its process to determine the NCAA Tournament teams.

At No. 24 in the latest Associated Press Top-25 poll, the Princeton Tigers take on the Harvard Crimson in the first Ivy League Tournament Semifinal on Friday at 4:30 p.m.
