PRINCETON, N.J. – Billy Motherway has been selected as the Princeton men's water polo team's Scott A.C. Roche '94 Memorial Award winner, the team announced.
The Roche '94 Award is awarded annually by election of the team to the senior player or players who, like Scott, lead with energy and determination, intense competition spirit and a contagious love of the game.
"The absolute best part of my job is that I get to meet and interact with people like Billy," said Princeton head coach Dustin Litvak. "Throughout his four years in the program, Billy was consistent in his drive, passion for the sport, and selflessness to give everything he had for the team. This entire senior class was special and instrumental in shaping the culture for the future, and Billy played a huge role in that. I have no doubt that Billy has made me a better coach and leader and his impact on our returning players is immeasurable. If we can recruit more guys like him, this program will be in a great place for years to come."
Motherway participated in 48 games, securing a 25-13 mark with .540 save percentage and 505 career stops. He was part of two Northeast Water Polo Conference championship teams in 2018 and 2021.
