Women’s Tennis Closes Ivy League Schedule With Matches Against Cornell & Columbia

PRINCETON, N.J. – The No. 49 Princeton University women's tennis team will travel to Ithaca, New York for a Friday matchup with Cornell on Friday at 2:00 p.m.
The team will then return home to the Lenz Tennis Center for a battle with No. 56 Columbia on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. Before the match, Princeton will celebrate the class of 2022. Three seniors will be honored, including Nathalie Rodilosso, Stephanie Schrage and Brianna Shvets.
Last Time Out
The Princeton University men's tennis team went 2-0 this past weekend, dispatching No. 72 Harvard 4-1 on Saturday and blanking Dartmouth 4-0 on Sunday.
The Tigers missed out on the doubles point against the Crimson, but went on to dominate in singles. No. 3 Daria Frayman earned a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Sophia at No. 1, and No. 38 Victoria Hu took down Rachel Arbitman at No. 3, 6-0, 6-4. No. 75 Brianna Shvets triumphed 6-3, 6-3 over Holly Fischer at No. 4, and at the No. 6 position, Maia Sung defeated Angel You, 6-4, 6-1.
The Tigers captured the doubles point against the Big Green, with Neha Velaga and Skyler Grishuk defeating Ashley Hess/Chidimma Okpara 6-2 at No. 2, while Daria Frayman and Nathalie Rodilosso downed Lexi Dewire/Chloe Yoo at No. 3, 6-2.
In singles, Neha Velega defeated Ashley Hess at the No. 2 position, 6-2, 6-2, and No. 75 Brianna Shvets dominated Lexi Dewire at No. 4, 6-0, 6-1. At No. 6, Maia Sung outlasted Uvjala Jupalli, 6-2, 6-2.
Tigers in the Rankings
Princeton has three ranked singles players, including No. 3 Daria Frayman, No. 47 Victoria Hu and No. 78 Brianna Shvets. The tandem of Frayman and Grace Joyce are ranked No. 89 in doubles. As a team, the Tigers are 49th in the nation.
Last Time They Met
The Tigers faced Cornell and Columbia in this year's ECAC Championships. Both matches ended in 4-0 victories for the orange and black.
