April 05, 2022 | Wrestling
Patrick Glory, Danny Coles, Marshall Keller, Quincy Monday and Nate Dugan were all recognized for their achievements in the classroom and on the mat with an EIWA Academic Achievement Award.
Wrestlers who competed at the EIWA Championships or earned NCAA Championship qualification were able to be considered for the honor.
Glory, a 125-pound junior and economics major, was the runner-up at the EIWAs and the NCAA Championships, becoming the second Tiger in program history to earn at least three All-American honors (Matthew Kolodzik '21) and turning in the best Tiger finish at the NCAAs since 2002 (Greg Parker '03), a finish that would be equaled by Monday later that evening.
Coles, a 141-pound freshman, made Princeton's EIWA lineup in his debut season with the program, winning twice to advance to the consolation of four at the EIWAs and finish with a winning record on the season at 9-8.
Keller, a 149-pound junior and anthropology major, completed an impressive run through the consolation draw to qualify for the NCAA Championships for the first time in his career, winning four consecutive consolation bouts against higher-ranked opponents to make the third-place bout and clinch an NCAA bid.
Monday, a 157-pound junior and anthropology major, won his first EIWA championship and made the NCAA finals, combining with Glory to give Princeton two finalists at the same NCAA Championships for the first time in program history. Monday earned All-American honors for the second time with that finish.
Dugan, a 174-pound sophomore and sociology major, finished eighth in his EIWA debut and was just two wins from an NCAA Championships automatic bid. Dugan had two wins over InterMat- or NCAA Coaches-ranked opponents on the season, defeating Rutgers' Jackson Turley, ranked 16th by InterMat, at the MatMen Open in December and Harvard's Joshua Kim, ranked 27th by the NCAA Coaches panel, in the teams' January dual.
