PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton Women's Open Rowing team had 12 members named to the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) Scholar Athletes.
Alix Barry, Emma Cavendish, Hannah Diaz, Claire Fisher, Claira Fucetola, Catherine Garrett, Isabelle Grosgogeat, Mairead Kilgallon, Lydia Rosen, Lara Valt, Camille Vandermeer and Roopa Venkatraman all met the 3.5 GPA criteria along with the eligibility.
Princeton's Varsity Four won the NCAA Championship while the team placed third overall. The varsity four's gold marked the first V4 medal in program history at the NCAA Rowing Championships. The 1V also collected a bronze, its best finish since 2013.
It was the first time that Princeton had two medal winners at NCAAs since 1997. The Tigers also finished third in the team standings (118) behind Texas (124) and Stanford (124). That was the best mark by Lori Dauphiny's group since a silver in 1997.
