Heavies Announce The Hiring Of Emma Carlisle-Reske As Assistant Coach
July 06, 2022 | Heavyweight Rowing
PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton men's heavyweight team has announced the hiring of Emma Carlisle-Reske as an assistant coach.
"I'm grateful to Coach Hughes and Coach Smith for giving me this opportunity to come back to the Princeton community," said Carlisle-Reske. "I'm beyond excited to work alongside them and coach an already incredible and accomplished group of young men and women."
Carlisle-Reske has spent the last two seasons with Syracuse men's rowing as an assistant. During her two years, the Orangemen had its varsity eight reach consecutive IRA Grand Finals including a fourth-place finish in 2021. She helped Syracuse in all areas of team management, recruiting, practice implementation and general boathouse maintenance.
Before Syracuse, she spent a season with Princeton men's lightweight team, directing the walk-on rowing team and specified with the fourth varsity crew.
Another stop in her collegiate coaching journey was at UMass, where she's spent three seasons, coaching all varsity boats. While there, she created workouts, drills and a training plan for the winter and spring. She also worked on team travel, gear orders and nutritional planning for the squad. She also collaborated with strength and conditioning staffs to design and implement periodized training protocols.
The Smith College graduate also coached at the Craftsbury Outdoor and Dee Campbell Centers in addition to the Northampton Community Rowing and Old Dominion Clubs.
Some of Carlisle's rowing accolades while at Smith including second team All-American honors twice, ECAC All-Star awards, the school's Golden Oar and Coaches' Awards, along with a NEWMAC First-Team All-Conference selection. Her academic honors include four-time school Scholar Athlete, Dean Lists and NEWMAC Scholar Athlete distinctions. She also collected College Rowing Coaches' Association Scholar Athlete honors twice.
Carlisle graduated from Smith College with bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Liberal Studies and later earned her master's in Exercise Science and Coaching.
